Origin of Green Clay
- Our Italian green clay powder originates from the Adriatic Sea, the territory of Piemonte, in Northern Italy. The clay is the result of the marine deposits from 35,000,000 years ago. Tens of millions years ago the Piemonte was a tropical basin where plant and animal species lived, the water has been inhabitant by bone and fish cartilage especially several species of sharks, the remains that have been found includes a sharks tooth. This has been used as a trace to age the deposits. Other things that were also discovered were algae, corals, kelp, seaweeds and other invertebrates although these were not shelled they left their trace by biological modification of non-solidified sediments.
